Since its first appearance in the fourteenth century, Japanese Stab Binding has remained the most typical Japanese style binding even until today. It is a simple but strong binding that allows you to bind multiple one-sided printed sheets without showing any blank pages. This unique thread sewn technique offers a variety of opportunities for creative design, including the use of different papers and coloured threads.
During this 3.5-hour workshop, participants will get to learn basic bookbinding skills and 4 variations of Japanese Stab Binding - 4-Hole, Hemp Leaf, Noble and Tortoise Shell.
Participants will get to choose from a variety of colours for the cover and thread.
Bring home 4 finished products and use them as notebooks, sketchbooks or gift them to a loved one.
